About Me
I am the niece of Billie Skinner (nee Langoulant). She told me the story of Louis coming out to Western Australia, originally to Albany, from Cherbourg, France. I think he was Henri Louis Langoulant born 1815. He married Mary Ann King. I am a family historian and keen to learn more if there were any connections with the same family in or around Bendigo. |

About Me
I have recently retired from teaching which puts me in a better position to pursue my history projects - the main one being the history of the Yarraville Sugar Works (CSR). I have also been tidying up the histories of the Tarr, Westaway and Ling families - my husband's ancestry. His parents Jack and Nancy Taig both came from Bendigo. |

About Me
I love researching my family history. I live in Ballan and it was not until we came to live here, that I discovered my family's roots. My Great Great Grandfather actually had a hotel in our street. Long since gone, but its a nice feeling to think my ancestors walked this same street. |

About Me
I am from a very early family in the region and Gt Gt Gt Grandfather was a carrier bringing goods to the few squatters in the region prior to the discovery of gold. From a very early age I had a passion for history and a very enquiring mind not easily fulfilled even after reading countless volumes. I attended university and became a materials scientist / industrial chemist before becoming a museum officer and now, presently, manager of the Bendigo Joss House Temple. A passionate researcher and collector, I am currently researching my own family tree as well as the chemist profession here in Victoria from the 1840's onwards. I co-present a radio program weekly on 106.7 Phoenix FM dedicated to histroical matters and oral histories pertaining to this region which has been going for nearly five years.

About Me
I live in Coffs Harbour and I am a decendant of Joseph Vincent Durand ( known as Vincent) and his son Napoleon Durand. And recently found a great article that was dated Saturday 19th of August in the Sydney Morning Herald. It was an amazing story of Joseph travelling from France to California looking for gold then travelling to Australia in 1852 when hearing of gold being discovered here. He found gold in Bendigo (Sandhurst) with his pockets well lined he returned to Sydney to marry then returned to the goldfields not to dig for gold but to grow vegetables in the locality. The article tells of his life in Australia and the various projects he tackled in this still young country. Joseph was 60 yrs of age when the journalist met him in the Walgett area, He was very impressed with the progress Joseph and his sons had accomplished in the years that they had been working on the land. What a gem of an article ! It answered many questions I had been pondering about this man. I am interested in finding more about Josephs (Vincents) and His Wife Elizabeths life in Bendigo in the years they were there. |

About Me
I am a health service manager and live in Albury NSW.I have been doing family research for a reasonably short period of time, and I only took it up after my Aunt died. She had done some research and had shared some information with me that I then became curious about my family and I have carreid it on.Through my research I have meet some wonderful people who also share a vision and desire to find out about their own kin. I know that Bendigo was a strong family connection which I am trying to pursue but it has been difficult to find others connected with my family. Pinders in Bendigo include Percy photographer and Stephen a dental technician ( i think) and Frank a dentist. Regards Jeanne |
